Sohail joined the DBT China team as Sector Director and Minister Counsellor in
September 2021 before moving into the role of Deputy HM Trade Commissioner for
China in July 2023. Sector accountabilities in his role include Education, Creative
Industries, the Sports economy, Consumer & Retail, Food & Drink, Agriculture and
Agritech and Life Sciences & Healthcare.
Prior to joining DBT Sohail had a highly successful career in the Private Sector where
he held Executive and Board roles in the Retail sector and specialised in the
development and expansion of British Retail brands across a global footprint.

Nick Poole OBE is CEO of Ukie, the trade body for the UK’s video games and interactive entertainment industry. He is a champion of the social, educational and wider economic and industrial impact of the industry, with a particular focus on partnerships, policy and public engagement.
Nick represents the video games industry as a member of the Creative Industries Council, a cross-sector advisory body to the Secretaries of State at DCMS and DSIT. He is chair of the UK Council of Creative UK and also interim chair of the Board of Trustees of the National Videogame Museum.

Eva currently serves as the Head of Creative Industries for South China and the China Lead for Investment in Creative Industries at the UK Department for Business and Trade. Her role focuses on promoting and facilitating commercial cooperation and exchange between China and the UK in the creative industries. She works to foster investment in the cultural and creative sectors between the two countries and to support the export of UK cultural products. Her scope includes games, film, television, animation, the experience economy (such as theme parks, attractions, exhibitions), and performing arts.
