On November 24, the British Consulate General in Guangzhou and the Shenzhen Green Building Association will jointly host the 'UK – China Forum: The Transitioning of Building Industry towards Nearly Zero'. This forum will serve as one of the sub-forums of the Sustainable Built Environment 2023 Asia Pacific Conference (SBE23 Asia Pacific). Sector experts and business representatives will come together and brainstorm on the complimentary areas the UK and China can work together to achieve the global mission of decarbonisation, particularly in the Built Environment sector. We will cover the whole lifecycle of the construction sector, including standard setting on decarbonisation, Net Zero design, energy efficiency management, green finance, and green building certification, to deep dive into the sector trend, the shared challenges, as well as the potential opportunities.
Sustainable Built Environment 2023 Asia-Pacific Regional Conference (SBE23 Asia Pacific) is regarded as the most influential international event in the sustainable building and construction field. It is jointly initiated by the International Council for the International Initiative for Sustainable Built Environment, Research and Innovation in Building and Construction, the International Federation of Consulting Engineers and the United Nations Environment Programme. The first SBE was held in 2000. The conference operates on a three year cycle. Shenzhen is appointed to hold this world conference this year from 23rd Nov to 25th Nov. The topic of the conference focuses on how to achieve "Carbon Peaking and Carbon Neutrality" in the construction field.
